Anne & Emmett: Open NOW in Chicago, Coming Soon to D.C.

It’s been another busy summer with a lot to recap! After filming my latest film project, Shed (more to come on that), I began my next stage project, Janet Langhart Cohen’s Anne & Emmett, playing the role of Emmett Till. We spent the end of June thru this July in Atlanta under the direction of Tom Jones II and starring alongside Noa Stern Frede as Anne Frank. I also got to work with Atlanta talents India Tyree as my mother, Mamie Till and Matthew Myers as Otto Frank/JW Milam.

This role has been one of the more unexpected surprises of my career. Its been an honor to step in Emmett’s shows during the weekend of his 85th birthday as well as the very first Emmett Till day in the state of Illinois. The character is vibrant, he carries joy and sorrow and playing his story in “Memory” has pushed me to tap into depths I’ve never experienced as an actor until now.

We run 7/24 til 7/26 at the DuSable Museum, so by time most people see this, the Chicago’s run will have commenced. However, we will be filming the show over the next few days AND will be taking the show to DC. It’s been another year of milestones as this is the first time traveling on stage and I’m loving every bit of it. I have more updates on the way, so stay tuned!
